Wish I Could Relive the Past

Wish I could Relive the Past, Wish there was no need to find a Path
Wish there were no growing Pains, no Fear of falling Apart
Wish a Life with no more Lies, where Love would all Suffice
Success would never Matter and Failure could never Shatter
For who feel Life's a Race, for them Feelings can never Matter
Feeling is all I care, Endurance is all I have Mastered
I wish to walk throughout, can't afford to just pass it out
We could all just be together, no more reasons to turn our back,
Life's a Different Ball Game, You Either Learn or Give it Back.

Gone Unnoticed

With Every Wind That Passes By,
There's A Story That Has Gone Unnoticed.
Every Time We Hold On To Something Very Tight,
There's Goodness That Has Gone Unnoticed.
With Every Requests And Pleads That You Ignore,
 Death of Happiness and Expectations Have Gone Unnoticed.
With Every New People You're Keen On Meeting,
The Old Memories Have Gone Unnoticed.
Every Time You Ignore My Calls And Messages,
 My Willingness To Get Back To You Has Gone Unnoticed.
Every Time You Say We Can't Be Like Before,
You're Letting The Feelings Of Your Own Heart Go Unnoticed.
With Every Time You Say I Don't Want You.
My Existence In Your Life Has Gone Unnoticed.
Why Aren't You Noticing The Fact You Want Me Like Before,
Because Your Feelings For Me Haven't Gone Unnoticed.

You're My Moon

Baby no matter where we are,
I'll keep looking at the Sky;
No matter how confused,
I'll keep looking out for Signs;
Baby no matter how big our Fights,
I'll keep looking out for Smile;
No matter how wrong you are,
I'll always be by your Side;
Baby 'cos you are my STAR,
Would you let me be your SKY;
'cos you are my MOON,
Would you let me be your LIGHT.

Rehmatein is an initiative by Sangeetam a Charitable Trust that helps the artists of the music fraternity by providing monetary support to them. Sangeetam also has a motive of supporting and helping aspiring singers and musicians by giving them scholarships and training by the maestros from the music industry.

Stalwarts of Indian Music Industry Hariharan, Anup Jalota, Shaan, Javed Ali, Babul Supriyo and Suresh Wadkar sang many beautiful and mesmerizing ghazals of Jagjit Singh ji to a Houseful Musical Evening at Shanmukhananda Hall, Sion, Mumbai.

Smita Parikh, CEO at E-Bizz Entertainment said, “Team E-Bizz Entertainment thanks all the artists who performed at the evening and to all the guests, music lovers and all our sponsors and partners, because of all your support, we call #Rehmatein2 to be a grand success and gave us confidence to make upcoming #Rehmatein3”.

A lot of buzz was created via social media about the event in the form of Contests and #TweetChats with artists Javed Ali and Hariharan using the hashtags #AskYourArtist and #Rehmatein2 respectively.

#TweetChat with sensational Javed Ali was facilitated by @WeMaharashtra in association with Rehmatein 2 and Contest and #AskYourArtist with Hariharan was facilitated by @ArtistAloud.

The level of engagement seen for Tweet Chat as well as the Contest was mind blowing. It might have been tough for the artists to keep up with the enthusiasm of their fans, given the immense flow of questions being shot at them, but all the questions were patiently and beautifully answered. All-in-all, it was a great session with Javed Ali and Hariharan.

July 17th
Finally the day arrived to witness the extraordinary ghazal night we have all been waiting for, with performances by the Stalwarts of Indian Music Industry: Anup Jalota, Hariharan, Shaan, Javed Ali, Babul Supriyo and Suresh Wadkar.

The event took off with introduction and more information about Sangeetum and #Rehmatein2 by our host for the night Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Penguin India Best Seller Author and Film-maker, Former Broadcaster with BBC London.

Hariharan handing over a Health Insurance Policy to a musician, on behalf of the Sangeetum Trust to support the musicians.

Before the performances began, our host Mr. Pankaj Dubey shared an interesting fact about Javed Ali; saying that the last time when Javed Ali did an official ghazal performance, which was also his first, he was only 14 years old, and that today was the second time he was going to officially sing the ghazals that too paying tribute to the legendary Jagjit Singh.
What a night to start with.

Javed Ali paid his tribute by singing the ghazal named 'Shaam Se Aankh Mein Nami Si Hai' and then came the epic, 'Hoshwalon Ko Khabar Kya'. By this time, the crowd had already surrendered and entered the world of Javed Ali, a different zone altogether.

My personal favorite was the third ghazal, which I had never heard of, 'Mausam Ka Armaan Samajh'. This really touched my heart.

Had to dig a lot to find this audio sung by Jagjit Singh ji, another live performance. Enjoy with lyrics :)

Lyrics:
Mausam ka armaan samajh
Kuchh toh meri jaan samajh
Jisme tera pyaar na ho
Us dil ko veeran samajh
Gurbat ki tauheen na kar
Muflis ko insaan samajh
Duniya ke har rishte ko
Do din ki pahchaan samajh
Laa main tera Ved padhu
Tu meri Quraan samajh
Gar majboot iraada hai

Har mushkil aasaan samajh

The last ghazal sung by Javed Ali was:
'Dard se mera daaman bhar de ya Allah, Phir chahe deewana kar de ya Allah....'

Suresh Wadkar ji took over the stage and started with 'Hazaaron khwahishen aisi ke har khwahish pe dam nikle' and 'Chithi Na Koi Sandesh' then came a ghazal, which had the audience humming and clapping to the tunes of Suresh ji, it was 'Kal Chaudhvin Ki Raat Thi'

'Kal chaudvin ki raat thi
Shab bhar raha charcha tera
Kal chaudvin ki raat thi
Kuch ne kaha yeh chaand hai
Toh Kuch ne kaha chehra tera'.

The minute Babul Supriyo came onto the stage, he brought humor along. He started off with 'Sarkati Jaye Hai Rukh Se Naqab' and then 'Hothon Se Chhoo Lo Tum' made the crowd sing along the tunes of Babul Supriyo.

Hariharan ji sang 'Kaise Chhupaon Raaz-E-Gham' paying tribute to Mehdi Hassan, a Pakistani ghazal singer and a former playback singer for Lollywood; one of the greatest and most influential figures in the history of ghazal.

Mr. Saurabh Daftary, Founder and Chairman of E-Bizz, a big fan of Jagjit Singh ji, couldn't resist and joined Hariharan on stage and entertained the audience with his exceptional voice, singing his favorite ghazal.

It was great to see Shaan perform and the audience was all excited to hear him. When he began with 'Tumko Dekha Toh Yeh Khayal Aaya' the crowd started humming.

Anup Jalota ji shared that, 'Ashiqui 2 bhi toh aayi thi, #Rehmatein2 bhi hona chahiye, zarur chalegi'.

He began with this ghazal,
'Bade Mashhoor hote jaa rahe hoo,
Sabhi se duur hote jaa rahe hoo,
Humare hee liye fursat nahi hai,
Bade majboor hote jaa rahe hoo'.
He further added,
'Ek do Sher aur dedete,
Bade Kanjoos hote jaa rahe hoo'

Anup ji sang three ghazals, after which he said, 'Now you all leave otherwise I will start singing Bhajans'. Really enjoyed his performance. He kept cracking jokes in between the ghazals.

His last ghazal for the night was, 'Ye Daulat Bhi Le Lo'

But what really touched my heart was, he changed a few words from this ghazal, paying tribute to Jagjit Singh ji,

'Ye daulat bhii le lo, ye shoharat bhii le lo
Bhale chhiin lo mujhase merii javaanii
Magar mujhako lautaa do Jagjit Wapas,
Vo Ghazale Purani, Vo Shaame Suhaani'.

In the end, all of them came together for a collective performance, together sang

'Zindagii mein to sabhii pyaar kiyaa karte hain,
Main tau mar kar bhii merii jaan tujhe chaahuungaa'
